Mpftray.exe connecting to akamaitechnologies.net?

HI, I have recently been getting strange connections from mpftray.exe (McAfee firewall) to deploy.akamaitechnologies.net http 80. I think it has something to do with the autoupdates function, but once it is connected is stays there for well over an hour(sometimes i have to manual shut down this connection through TcpView). My question is should i worry about this connection and why does it not close?

As you are probably aware Akamai servers are widely used to provide content for many. Aside from updates is there any other part of your McAfee software that may be getting content from the web (control center)?

The only two Mcafee programs i am using at the moment is McAfee Firewall Plus and Anti-Virus 2006 version, but this is the first time i have ever seen MCAfee connecting to Akamai while retriving updates, then not disconnecting straight afterwards. I was quite worried the reason being it still seemed to be comunicating with there servers, the strange thing though was that McAfee Firerwall wasn't showing the connection, but Tcpview and netstat were. Crazy M, do you have any ideas why this would be happening?

Not off hand, that's why I was asking if there was any other component of your McAfee software that may make connections. You could always try a packet sniffer (Ethereal) to see what, if anything, is going on.
