Mozilla to abandon Thunderbird development?

    Well, maybe I'm silly but I question why an email program needs those built in in the first place. What's with the move lately for programs to start adding functions they never had or were meant for? Can an email program just be an email program? All moves like this do is make things bloated and usually performance and/or security suffers for it.

    Back to the roots, I'm all for it :D

    Mozilla is in the process of redefining who they are - which is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as it leads to more choices for the, er, consumer. As for Thunderbird, a modular approach might be the solution - after all, Lightning is an add-on too.

    in short is the only email client , the other clients are not confrontable to thunderbird

    The last I read, TB is still in development. If anything, Mozilla should slow releases, as some if not many A/V Vendors do not support T-Bird.
