    I'll just wait for the auto-update ... it's a lot easier.

Yes, let's have the discussion again:

    1) download early from the FTP site?
    2) is it really the final?
    3) wait for the updater?
    4) are the add ons compatible?
    5) why aren't the add ons compatible?
    6) why do they keep screwing with the version number?

    :D :D

Each time I resolve not to but I do :(

You could add to the excellent list why not just get on the beta or Aurora or nightly channel if you really, really want to be ahead of the game.

Well, I have had it with this update schedule! I have disabled the auto update feature in Firefox and I will now update Firefox manually every 3 months.

Well, while I agree it's kind of 'lame' (for the lack of a better word atm), I find those "final" releases to be not worse off in terms of stability compared to the beta or aurora channels. At the very least, it satisfies the hunger of those who wants to be 'ahead of the game' but wish to remain convinced that they're getting a 'stable' version.

Nah, not hard to update in a couple of days. :D

I see the have the extended support version of 10 on the FTP now. Curious as how add-on developers will react. I don't doubt some of them will only support the extended version so that they won't have to release any updates for a year. :doubt:

I wonder how that'll work with Add-on Compatibility Reporter.

Roughly six weeks old. >>> "First offered to Beta channel users on November 22nd, 2011"
I expect the ver. 11 beta to be out by the weekend.
