Hi @xxJackxx I do hope it resolves itself soon for you. See I use Firefox on the ONLY Windows 10 I have right now until I can hopefully afford a new one again. Does that happen every time? I'm curious since you said it never happened before ever on your PC. Thanks

It seems pretty random. Usually when I click a link. It looks like I'm waiting for a page to load and nothing happens. The whole thing becomes unresponsive and I have to kill it. It seems to be an occasional thing since v 100. I've tried changing the 0rtt settings in the config but it seems to make no difference. I've switched to mostly using Edge but I hate the idea of dumping Firefox altogether.

i have written it before, please dont alter ORTT, it wont help you out, it only cloaks the real problem. switching browser may work for you, but at least it do not resolve any issue.

you can/should try a fresh profile with nothing else, use about:support to check injected extensions, most stupid security software will do. disable webprotection in any security software and see what happens.

    any example present to reproduce?

just started windows 11, no issues that kind, no issues at all.

None at all. Other than clicking a link. It seems to freeze there. If there is something repeatable I have not identified it. I changed the 0rtt back to the original setting as it did nothing. A new profile may help... when I have time to deal with it. There are things I would want to export first.

took only a minute -> about : profiles
and insert about:support from there to here and compare it yourself with the working profile. maybe you find the tweak or extension causing the culprit.
to compare the about : support (both copied as text) you can use notepad++.

So I updated my macOS Monterey 12.5 MBP18.1 Apple M1 Pro release version of Firefox 103.0 to 103.0.1 this morning, even though I had not experienced a Firefox crash for many months. So what happens an hour or so after the update? A crash while watching a YouTube video...

Although the crash did not occur during a shutdown, and no additional crashes have occurred since I'm looking through the sys/app logs now to see if anything related is discovered.

Edit: After a second Firefox app crash, I deleted Firefox cache, data, and cookies followed by a fallback on top of v103.0.1 back to Firefox release 103.0 when the logs I read were either empty or contained no entries relating to the time of the crash. So far the fallback is stable. Firefox's about:crashes reported, "No crash reports have been submitted".

    HTH

if you have crashes disabled that should happen ;)
firefox has a crashreport which should show up, but crashes are also available with
    Code:
    about:crashes
    - and optional to submit.

    Hello @Brummelchen

Even though I had configured my Firefox app to disable automatic updates long ago, my system's 3rd party package manager app (Homebrew for Mac) dutifully detected my manual fallback to v103.0 and once again updated Firefox back up to v103.0.1. Despite more than one earlier system restart & manual update to v103.0.1, this last Homebrew-driven update to v103.0.1 is now stable.

As I am rather diligent about checking for legitimate installer/installed program hashes, digital signing, and notarization, yesterday's incidents are a mystery.

Thank you for the intelligent assistance! :thumb:

that cant be done with any pref since a lot of builds, only with policies.

as much i understood brew loads original packages from mozilla servers
