Thanks JR I was getting many crashes with Intel i7 CPU on Win 10 Pro x64 21H2? Hopefully this will fix my issues.

    Fixed

    • Addresses frequent crashes experienced by users with certain AMD CPUs running on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1

It's funny; I run an AMD Phenom II x4 CPU on Win7 64-bit and didn't have a Firefox crash. Maybe mine is too old. :doubt:

I guess that I will wait with Windows 11 for a little longer than I first thought. Thumbs down from me also.

Mine will update if ever switch Windows 10 back on again anytime soon.
Windows 8.1 mainstream runs only Chrome and it's forks. Win 10 Firefox :thumb:

I uninstalled the chromium Edge with HiBit and disabled Internet Explorer. The "Web Browser" in my Settings app is Firefox. But when testing this, I search for something via Search (something random that would open a browser), and what opens is a blank white window with Microsoft Edge at the top. It then closes just as quickly and the search is aborted.

Ridiculous! Might as well not have a "default" browser at all. Getting very obvious here, Microsoft, and it ain't pretty. :(

This is even worse. I don't think I've ever seen anyone try so hard to force you to use their product. I'd be more interested in using it if they didn't try so hard to make me. :thumbd:

because they care about "security"? no joke. it is vital to have control about file types and its links to programs, but they did not think it to the end, in special for internal "msedge" connections from apps to edge. and as you read that decision was made also for windows 10. and i would predict that would harden it some more to defeat any newer "deflector". on the other hand microsoft is eligible to use internal connections from their (!) apps to any browser they want to, without interence.

i think this is getting to far away from the topic line here.
