Does that fix the situation where if you type say ama and it offers suggestions and now you click on the suggestion, but instead of searching on the suggestion it searches on ama?

that's exactly why I hated the OneClick search and yes it does fix that

if you type ama.....then it shows suggestions...now when you click on the search suggestion it actually searches that particular entry you clicked on

It's funny. I made note of the instructions on the search stuff, upgraded to Firefox 35 and lo and behold, it was fixed and works correctly.

35.0: you can finally enable Developer Edition's minimalist theme in the stable version!

    about:config

    browser.devedition.theme.enabled >>> true

This enables the dev edition theme.

    +

    devtools.theme >>> light or dark

You can choose a light or a dark theme.

    That fixed it, thanks! :)
Strange though that it doesn't affect more users if Mozilla changed the preference for everyone.
UPDATE:Found the thread about it on ABP forum, seems affected users have to wait until FF37 for the preference to be fixed
    https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27375&start=30

I didn't want to because it it still erases a lot of thing. However Adblock Plus was also unable to install updates, so I was going to do it in the weekend, but luckily the answer has been found :)

You are welcome. In neither of my computers (XP and W7), the update to 35 changed the preference.

But for testing, I changed it to False in my XP, after rebooting the browser, the Adblock plus icon disappeared from the UI. I only have one other addon icon visible in the interface (NoScript), that one did not go away with the changed preference.

    devtools.theme
You can change it with dark,if you like.

In order to have affect, you got to use the default ff theme.

Let's clarify. That's a FF 36 Beta version feature, for now:

It also looks like there are a few addons that let you control the referer header information, although I have no experience with them:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/smart-referer/
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/change-referer-button/
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/referrer-control/

The second one, "Change Referer" just lets you do what siljaline mentions by clicking a button, rather than having to go into about:config. Allows for easy toggling the setting on the fly.

    Couple more options:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/refcontrol/
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/headercontrolrevived/

Me neither, which is why I disable auto updates in the settings straight after install.

I have no problems at all with the auto updates, I would rather have the browser update itself than get hit by a flaw or exploit because I forgot to keep it updated.
