    C:\WINDOWS\system32\wintime.exe <- this file
    C:\WINDOWS\winupd.exe <- this file
    svchosd.exe <- this file, via start -> search -> files/folders ( note spelling!!)
    C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll <- this file
    C:\WINDOWS\quxrad.exe <- this file
    C:\WINDOWS\mstasks2.exe <- this file
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe <- this file ( NOTE : ONLY the one in THAT folder, system32 one is legit!)
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\services\ <- this folder

    Clean temp internet files

    Restart again in normal mode

Update XP and IE via windowsupdate.com

    Hope this helps

    Cheers,

Re: my hijack this log - please help

unzy, the problem is that i have been running multiple programs such as adaware, spybot, and avg. i assume EXPLOIT.EXE was deleted by one of them. Everytime i started windows, i would get a popup saying exploit.exe could not be found.

But anyway, thank you very much for the advice. I followed all of your instructions and things seems to be running smoothly. Im going to run adaware and spyboy once more just in case. Anywho, thanks again man, you're the best.

    Hi twstedroads,

The rules for this forum clearly stat you should use AdAware or Spybot S&D before you post your log. I very much doubt you did that. (or you forgot to update for a few months)

First try to remove SaveNow aka WhenUSave aka Save! in Add/Remove software. Either way continue with what's below.

    Download and run: http://www.memorywatcher.com/uninst.exe
The program needs internet access to finish.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://default-homepage-network.com/start.cgi?new-hklm
