I talked about it in another thread know the solution but I don't know how to do it :

    The goal:
I want to clone a standard vista system on a raid disk using trueimage.

    the way to do it:
The new system on RAID can't boot because of missing RAID drivers. The solution would be to install drivers in Vista BEFORE cloning the disk.

    my problem:
The drivers (ich8r) refuses to install if the RAID controler is not activated... and the system won't boot with the RAID controller activated because it has no drivers installed.

    The question :
Is there a way to force/manual install drivers in windows Vista ?

    thanks !

Does the computer have several different controllers? Some have several ports for ICH8R and then several other ports that run off of another chipset (JMicron, for example). You may be able to connect the drive to the other chipset, enable the RAID controller on the ICH8R and then install the drivers.

Some boards don't allow controllers to be detected in both modes with single drives. I've had good sucess with NVidia controllers. I haven't tried my Intel chipsets.
