    looks like a joke but would it actually startle anyone :cool:

    I fell for it myself till I took a look at a few of the other stories on that "news" site :D

    Maybe this will be an insentive for those still using Internet Explorer to move to a more secure browser.

    There's actually two seperate tools being discussed here.
    I believe the quoted article is talking about M$ AntiSpyware (Beta) recently aquired from GIANT.

    The tool that comes through Windows Updates is the Malicious Software Removal Tool

    Perhaps the release of one is related to the aqusition of the other, but they're not the same thing, thats for sure.

    Totally unrelated for now.
    soon to be integrated under the security center.
    at least I think so.
