First something was trying to use SAS to change my homepage was the only warning I was getting but each time I blocked it - Now the attempts are being picked up by several of my security Apps. and each one is warning me,
and asking if I want to allow it.

This is the thing they are all warning me about, months ago I asked
'HI-jack this' to give it the big A but it appears determined.

Can anyone please advise how to stop this thing permanently from it's attempts because I don't want it ?

Did you perform a full scan with SAS?
Also, try MBAM and do a quick scan.

Have you checked what your homepage is supposed to be in all of your browsers?
Any other programs running that could be doing this?
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see MSN as a dangerous site.
Have you recently installed Microsoft's Live Messenger?
That could do this to you but it can be taken care of by going into FF or whatever browser you use and making it the default browser. Same for making your homepage whatever you want it to be.
Don't know if any of the above helps but I hope it does.

May I suggest a full scan with MBAM just to be sure you've tried everything. I recently had a trojan where SAS found 8 instances of it, and MBAM found 66 more. :ninja:

Thanks to all the guys replies - I run all my sec. Apps. at least daily but
like you hugg. I don't believe this to be malware, more like ~Phrase removed. - Ron~ nuisanceware - I got rid of that MSN Messenger rubbish a few months ago
via Add/Remove/WindowsComponents on my XP but,
    there has always been this
other MSN in plain ordinary Add/Remove, it's 25.odd megs and is attached
to MSN Gaming in Program Files as well as MSN core files and MSNIA and MSN Installer - I would really like to be rid of MSN in total
but can't find out because people appear to get these MSN's a bit mixed up,
everyone on Google refers to MSN Messenger but that's long gone from my machine,
it's this main MSN I want rid of - I would like to know if it's safe to dump it
via Add/Remove or is it joined to M$ at the hip and not Deletable ?

    No, I don't have M$ live messenger.
    I just have IE7.
I have not tried to change my HP - it's locked on about:blank

As soon as I switched on this morning again there were 3 sec.Apps. with their warnings, they only say it's trying to change the HP, not that it's Malware.

Try using Google or Ask as a homepage and lock it in using the controls in IE7. Might make a difference.
I don't have enough knowledge to help you with what you can and can't remove from your pc.
If you use Firefox or Opera set your homepage like I suggested above and see if that works.
