Microsoft releases driver and firmware updates for the Surface Studio and Pro X

A couple of Surface devices - specifically, the first-generation Surface Studio and last year's Pro X - are getting a handful of driver and firmware updates today. The longest list of updates is naturally for the Pro X, which is the more recent device.

Being an ARM-based device, the Surface Pro X has a lot of its hardware components built into Microsoft's SQ1 chipset, so the update will show up as a single entry in Windows Update, simply using the designation "Microsoft Corporation – System Hardware Update". However, the update targets multiple components, including the GPU, the audio chipset, and more.
The fixes range from those for bugchecks, to audio performance, among other things.

Meanwhile, the Surface Studio has a more modest list of updates, and they all focus on security and stability.

Both sets of updates seem to require Windows 10 version 1809, or the October 2018 Update, in order to be detected in Windows Update, though the Surface Studio page has conflicting information on that front.

Older Surface Laptop and Pro models get driver and firmware updates

Last week, the original Surface Studio and the Surface Pro X both got a series of driver and firmware updates from Microsoft. Now, a few more Surface devices are getting a similar treatment, with a handful of updates focusing on stability and security. Specifically, the Surface Laptop, Surface Laptop 2, Surface Pro 6, and Surface Pro 5th gen are all getting updates.

Because a lot of the hardware inside these devices is actually fairly similar, the driver updates are nearly identical across the four devices. Here's the full list: [...]

This list applies to all four devices, excluding the Intel display driver at the top. The Surface Pro 5th gen and Surface Laptop are both getting the aforementioned version 26.20.100.7639, but the Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 are getting version 26.20.100.7637. However, the changelog itself is the same in both versions.

More Surface devices get firmware and driver updates

First, it was the Surface Pro X and Surface Studio, then a couple of older generations of the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop. Now, the Surface Pro 7, Laptop 3, and Studio 2 - the most recent iteration of each lineup - are all their own sets of updates.

The Surface Pro 7, as well as the Intel variant of the Surface Laptop 3, only have a couple of firmware updates, and they are exactly the same between the two devices.
Finally, the Surface Studio 2 has the longest list of updates, but they're mostly aimed at generic stability improvements. [...]

Surface Go 2 firmware update improves pen performance

Microsoft just rolled out a firmware update for the Surface Go 2. The update improves pen performance when a palm is on the screen and also improves general stability.
The latest firmware update for the Surface Go 2 should be available now through Windows Update.
