Microsoft announced the rollout of the Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) Campaign Views feature in public preview, a new capability designed to provide security teams with an overview of the attack flow behind phishing attacks against their organization.

The new Office 365 ATP Campaign Views feature is available for customers with Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection Plan 2, Office 365 E5, Microsoft 365 E5 Security, and Microsoft 365 E5 plans.

"The additional context and visibility available in these campaign views provide the full story of how attackers targeted the organization and its users and how their defenses held up (or not)," Microsoft explains.
Provides an inside look in phishing campaigns
The new Office 365 ATP feature allows security professionals to quickly adapt an organization's defenses based on the infrastructure, as well as sender names and addresses used by attackers in email-based malicious campaigns, by helping them keep track of the various changes the operators make to evade attack defenses.

Microsoft is in the process of expanding the Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) capabilities with attack flow overviews of malware attacks targeting organizations.

This new feature builds upon the Office 365 ATP Campaign Views feature that rolled out in public preview back in December 2019 and it provided security pros with inside info in phishing attacks starting their organizations.
Once the new capabilities will roll out, organizations' security teams will be able to get extensive info on malware campaigns leading to an increased number of campaign indicators for easier blocking.
Inside look within malware campaigns
This will allow security professionals to see the big picture behind a malware campaign by better understanding their scope and responding to them more efficiently.

"We're expanding the functionality of our popular Campaign Views feature beyond phish," Microsoft explains on the new feature's Microsft 365 roadmap entry.
