Microsoft is creating a new lists app for businesses that use its Microsoft 365 services. Not to be confused with To Do, Microsoft’s consumer lists app, Microsoft Lists is designed to be the next evolution of SharePoint Lists. SharePoint users have been using lists for years to track issues and organize information, and Microsoft Lists will work across Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Microsoft Lists will include templates for quick lists, configurable color formatting, and even the ability to create alerts and processes. Lists can track issues, assets, routines, contacts, inventory, and more for companies. While Microsoft has created a separate web and mobile app for Microsoft Lists, it’s also fully integrated into Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Lists will also integrate with the company’s Power Platform, including custom list forms with Power Apps and workflows with Power Automate. Microsoft is planning to roll out Microsoft Lists this summer.

Microsoft Lists will begin rolling out later this month and will be available in Microsoft Teams in August. Microsoft Lists helps you track and organize information including issues, assets, routines, contacts, inventory, and more. Microsoft first announced the new tool at Build 2020, and we now have a release date for it.
Microsoft will speak more about Microsoft Lists at this year's online Inspire conference.

Microsoft Lists will be available on both the web and separate mobile apps. It will also integrate with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint. You can use templates to organize your workflow and information or create items from scratch.
When you use Microsoft Lists with Microsoft Teams, you can do things such as embedding a list directly into a Microsoft Teams channel.

Microsoft Lists, the new Microsoft 365 app that the company announced at the Build 2020 conference in May, will start rolling out in Microsoft Teams next month.

The company has posted a new message in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center this week to confirm that the targeted release for the new Lists app in Teams is in “early September”, followed by general availability in mid-October.
The new Lists app will make it easier for Microsoft Teams users to collaborate on the Lists with their colleagues. The functionality will be enabled for all Teams users by default, and the app will be accessible directly in the tab gallery of every team and channel.

After an announcement at Build 2020 in May, and a slow rollout starting last month, Microsoft has just officially announced that the new Lists app in Microsoft Teams is now generally available. The company says that the new experience should now be available for all commercial and all government customers to enjoy.
In case you didn’t already know, Lists is one of the newest apps for the Microsoft 365 subscription service.

To access Microsoft Lists in Teams, all you need to do is click the existing icon for Planner. This will then give you the ability to start Teams conversations alongside a list item, and so much more. We invite you to check out our explainer post for more information.

At Ignite 2021 Microsoft announced that Microsoft Lists is getting a new Modern Lookup Columns feature. Microsoft has now announced details regarding its roll-out.

Lookup columns will allow you to connect a list to a column from another list you have on your site. Once connected, you can easily “lookup” other information and include this in your new list. This makes it easy to maintain team-level, centralized lists that contain information you use repeatedly.
Users will be able to create look up columns in modern list and document library UI.

For Targeted Release, the feature will begin rolling out in late November and is expected to complete rollout mid-December. Standard Release users will see it rolling out in late December and the rollout is expected to be completed by late January.
