The day Parrot OS can run all my games as well/better than Windows 10, I'll switch to Linux.

Also, the day Office 365 is released for Linux.

Yes, this can be a problem for many. I was originally going to run Win 7 right up until the end. I couldn't update for over a year anyway. I now run macOS, Chrome OS and Ubuntu (desktop, Chromebook, laptop). I liked Win 7, but it's had its day.

You may have to wait a while. I actually miss Win 7 a bit. I'd rather walk up the M6 with nails in my shoes than use Win 10 though. :argh:

If I was on 7 I wouldn't be a bit concerned about their shutting that service down.

Although used only sparingly by me for album covers to the media player lists of mp3's etc, on my Windows 8 it's not like it's absolutely needed and it certainly doesn't stop the player from playing musics but it does stop the player from gathering data on what and where that data was originating from and such.

I agree. Less data collected from users is better not worse.

Or just upgrade your Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free, using MS' tool.

I think to go on for a bit with 7: firewall hardware, software multi layer defense, security policies.....I have 10 and I don't like it, I don't want every few years to bend to Microsoft diktat.

I understand, I also don't want to move to 10 earlier than necessary. For now I switched to Windows 8.1 so I'll get updates till 2023, after that I'll see. Still I installed Windows 10 few months back to activate license just in case.
I doubt that there will be much security problems for those that stay on Win7. Situation will probably be similar to Windows XP after it's support ended.
