The link goes to the German site. I'll wait for a fix. Probably have to uninstall to go back anyway. Too much work.
lately i read that some have issues, some not, but less with less or moderate settings for web security. i see that my win11 which run until late night today had become also no update, latest check is 10pm. lol? on my other win11 system i got error code 3 0x800706b5 - when i click on it i get a chrome help page. reloading the internal edge page now show me no update, all fine. windows 11 itself is fine. for downgrade, i never did for edge. i hope it wont kill your profile, no experience here. nevertheless due sync here myself wont have data loss here. anyhow a backup is recommended from edge profile folder.
It seems to be pretty well determined what is happening at this point. Various sites are posting articles. If you can get to the specified settings (I could on my laptop but not my desktop) then you can change the settings as a workaround. At this point I'm just waiting for a new build. Microsoft Edge failing to load websites and pages showing 'not enough memory' - Neowin
as mentioned some have, some not. maybe depending of their surfing behavior and settings. i only had luck because the release date is somewhere when i am asleep or on work - usa > europe time shift.
It is not necessary to open Edge. Enter the rule in the registry that disables the Advanced Protection: P.S. I am also at version. 63: It is a criminal who made this mistake considering that the Canary version also had the same problem. Obviously that policy should be removed when a new update is available.
ah, now i see, i had tracking prevention in mind which also has balanced and strong. no, that settings here is turned off, also safer ms network one below. i use adblock mv3 or ublock (mv2) for my needs. this is same as for firefox - basic protection is nice, but my solution is much better.
I may have resolved this. Checked and the target said something like, Profile 1 on the Edge Icon in Taskbar > Properties. I deleted that but it did not seem to help. Profile icon returned when re-pinned. Next I when to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application and pinned that to Taskbar instead of the desktop shortcut, or start menu shortcut. I don't know yet if it is resolved but it has been running all night since yesterday and that profile icon hasn't returned, yet. Without being able to get Edge to work properly, it all may change again if and or when M$ update Edge to a working version.
Looks like Version 122.0.2365.66 has been released. I assume it is to fix this but I'm not turning that setting back on.
I repaired it 3x's today via Windows Settings > Apps > etc. and the last gave me .66. All former settings intact.
Hi Jack. I just turned the security setting back from balanced to strict (in the security section - NOT the tracking protection section) & toggled on "enhance your security on the web" & then updated Edge, & can confirm the issue is fixed in build 122.0.2365.66. That's on a grand total of one machine. About to do the same on the 9 other machines in the house, & will report back if any probs. Though I think if it was going to fail, it would be on the low-spec gutless wonder machine with just 8GB RAM that I updated on. For reference I'm signed into Edge with a MS account, but none of my settings are set to sync.
Krusty you can either update Edge via the control panel - select edge - select change - select repair & let it do it's thing. Takes less than a minute, & it will install this new version. Alternatively you can load broken Edge 63, click on your profile icon, select other profiles - select browse as guest, go to settings, click on about edge, which will start the updating process. (I didn't do it that way, but I think it would work). Or you can wait for it to be pushed out. Some of our machines seem to still run an old version of Edge a week after a new one has been released, some seem to get new versions within a day of release (if left to update in the background instead of manually). I want to put my preferred settings back, so I'll be manually updating ours.
Thanks for the information, @catspyjamas . As I don't normally use Edge I'm not in a hurry. I'd suggest if it hasn't updated in a week, a new version or three will probably have been pushed out by then anyway. Cheers.

Hi catspajamas, I ended up doing this and all went as you described. 122.0.2365.66 is up and running on both machines now. Thanks.
I found a M$ download link for Edge, but not the full installer. Scroll about half way down on this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...oft-edge-a5eceb94-c2b1-dfab-6569-e79d0250317b I may play around after MR runs its backup later tonight.
the icon was never gone. please specify some more. there exist a switch to put it from left to right again. @Krusty -> full installer if you havent disabled task and service, it will do - but only once a day, you can add more triggers.
