Well i have now had a good look at max and it all looks good. However it does add a few things to your services menu but they are installed disabled and will need to be enabled if you are to use them. The other caveat i may add is that you will need
Microsoft Windows® XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Microsoft Windows XP Professional with SP2. (Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition not supported.)
    2.4 GHz processor.
    512 MB of RAM.
200 MB of available hard disk space.
Windows Presentation Foundation™–capable 3D Video Card.
    Broadband INTERNET connection.

in preference to to the lower spec as the extra services may slow your computer done some what.
Having said all of this it does uninstall fully and without a problem. Also one last point to remember is that this is a on going project and you will need to be positive within yourself if you are to enjoy the maximum benefit of this new type of software of the future

    Regards

*Note: This is a Preview release. Therefore, do not install this on machines you depend on. Microsoft Codename Max requires the WinFX September CTP in order to function properly. Max will install this for you. However, if you have a previous version of WinFX Runtime Components, Avalon ("Windows Presentation Foundation"), Indigo ("Windows Communication Foundation"), or Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed, please uninstall before installing Max.
