Merging partitions?

    PartionMagic has a merge partition function. Is there a way to do this in DDS9?
    Example. I have a partition with data on it. Next to that partition is another one which is empty. How do I get the two to show as one larger partition using DDS9?
    TIA
    John

    Hello John,

    You can do the described operation in two steps:
    1) Delete the empty partition;
    2) Increase the size of the partition with the data on it.

    This two-step method cannot be used if both of the partitions to be merged store data.

    Thank you.

    Thank you Andrew
    But what if one partition does have data on it? Normally it probably would not but it is possible.
    Thanks again
    John

  6. What if you are trying to do the same thing (merge partitions), but you have a RAID/Array?

    Hello Sharon,

    Acronis Disk Director Suite 9.0 supports hardware RAID arrays. The current version doesn't support software RAID arrays (Windows Dynamic disks).

    Thank you.
