Media Player Classic - Black Edition (MPC-BE)

It's a freebie so I would suggest give it a spin with a Blu-Ray and see what pans out. Chances are it just might.

 

I moved back to MPC-HC, since BE has problem with some formats, the video was distorted or not played at all. MPC-HC within K-Lite Pack works fine.

 

I really like MPC-BE, but I have some 4K movies here that do not run (lag) on my laptop through it, whereas in VLC they run (but I have some issues with it). Does anyone know of a player who is as good as the MPC-BE that I can try? It can be free or paid.

Same here.

No serious issues whatsoever with the HC series but the BC series seems to have troubles every release so far.

Maybe they should look at the HC codes/formats and bring those to BC.

 

What I don't get is that SMPlayer is the only one offering a video rotate function. MPC-BE also doesn't have a slowmotion and speeding function like MPC-HC. The only thing I like is the thumbnail preview function.
