Does AVG 8.0 Free detect the mebroot rootkit (the one that changes the MBR?)?

Hate to break it to you but this is still ewido/AVG AS support forum :)

Other AVG free products have their own support forum somewhere in Grisoft site. Don't know where, and don't really care, because I'm kinda disliking them because of what they did to ewido.

It will most likely detect the inactive sample but if the rootkit is already active on a computer, then you will need one of the paid versions as there is no Anti-Rootkit component in the free version.
