    Hi all,

Not all honoury members at the forum do beta testing nor is it a pre-requisite of their membership status. Our Honoury members are only folks that have hung around at the forums over time and contributed there.

The simple reply is there is no harm letting this group of users have access to our new goodies ahead of others should they wish to help us out more.Thats a fair transaction for their assistance todate.

As far as new beta testers had anyone thought the reason why no download links had been sent was as a result in a delay in releasing the next test build ?

As far as *advanced user* tag i would guess because Betas are bound to have the some bugs that need ironing out as the test bed is widened(new bugs might emerge).

Advanced users know the risks involved and how to report back bugs+ the fun of trying to break stuff :p

Fair enough. What I was wondering is what does any of this have to do with a 50 post limit?

Beta testing is not for the inexperienced. I made the mistake when I started beta testing without a VM or rollback. I won't do that again.

    Thanks for the clarification, Ade.

Makes perfect sense to me. I would imagine useful beta testers could range from MBAM novices through MBAM experts but that, as you say and regardless of MBAM specific experience, a generically advanced user is more likely equipped (and imaged, or otherwise backed up) to cope with something going wrong with beta software and to provide observations with enough technical content to be useful to your organization.

I agree ...it took me 2 yrs to get to 50 posts at their forum. I was in no hurry.

Also, I only switched to the MBAM paid version recently, because of a good offer.

Even so, I still run MBAM on demand only.

    Hi

50 posts at our forums= entry into the honoury membership group.

Folks that seek help tend not to make that many posts but for those that hang around and contribute more will reach that status.

The forum title and their sub-forum is our way of saying thanks to those people:thumb:

I have enough issues to handle with so-called final version software. It would be fun to beta test but time consuming.

Well, did you sign up for the beta? If not, then why bother posting about those of us who did and are talking about it? Seems you have nothing better to do then huh? lol...

Edit: An Admin posted over at the MBAM forum:

They could've posted that as a requirement for the beta testing to save us wasting our time.:cautious:

Now I'm not getting you. You're not interested in the beta yet to be issued? I'll take what I can get on this pass. Maybe you'll be in on an initial beta yet if you hang in there.

I don't have to be a beta tester (or a beta tester wanna-be) to have an interest in the requirements. And I don't have to be a beta tester (or a beta tester wanna-be) to post my observations concerning something you've posted at Wilders. See how that works? :)

Let's just talk about the beta and stop this stupid argument. Nobody cares, including me.

Looks like no beta tonight. As per the MBAM forum:

    Oh well, perhaps tomorrow.

Just got the email and loaded the beta.

Went from 40MB or RAM running to 19MB...very nice. Much lighter.

Scheduler now for scans and updating as well as a flash scan, along with full and quick scans. Sweet.

The updating can run in realtime as well, as much as every 1 minute if you want.

Anyone have the link that disables the IP blocker? Or does the IP blocker function a little better?
