    Thanks Tony - uninstalled, reboot and then fresh install from a new download and that worked. I had installed v2 over v1 and apparently that was the problem. Right-click scanning of a file folder with 2 files took 42 seconds, most of it in the pre-scan. I revised my post on MBAM forum to reflect above info.

    You're very welcome. That said, I installed v2 over v1 myself as well, and that went without a hitch. MBAM doesn't advise against it either.

    I had a feeling that it was probably indeed due to a partially botched install.

    You're welcome. I did install the v2 (alpha) over top of the v1 but later decided to do a fresh install in lieu of banging the alpha build over top. YMMV ...

    I installed over the top, also. I had a hiccup with my install which I reported in the Malwarebytes forum.

    I run the gamut of MBAM software products. ;)

    I skimmed through the tread, and maybe I missed it. When does this beta open up to use non-special members?

    Thank you *ALL* for the amazing feedback, we're taking it back to the team. We've still got a ton of work to do to get this launched next year and this is definitely helping.

    We should have an open beta sometime in January. Right now the team is taking a breather and enjoying their time with family over the Holidays :). That being said, I've had to rip a few away from their keyboards ...

    @Rubber Ducky

    I don't know if you had thought of it but...

    Suggestion: Release the Open Beta (or Stable) on Jan 21 2014 as a celebration for MBAM 6th anniversary. :p

    BTW, happy holidays ;)

    Are you planning to look the other way with support for XP in MBAM v.2?

    Because of Microsoft's end-of-life of XP, we are going to be needed more than ever. We will continue XP support for quite some time.

    MBAR now embedded in the MBAM scan is one of the notable features with regards to detection.

    Let's hope MBAE will become part of Pro version as well.

    I agree, MBAM 2 needs something else that just the addition of MBAR.
