Nah. It just blocks sites that are malicious. Does the cost out weight the benefit? For me it didn't. Even when I went to a site that was dropping trojans it still blocked the file being downloaded.

Is there a way to tell BMAM to update the files on load up, instead of having to do it manually everytime?

Yeah, I guess that would be the difference. Makes sense. I have Website Blocking off all the time. Really don't require it.

Not that I've seen, It's either auto (via a set schedule) or manual.

Realtime update between 1 and 59 minutes is another option.

Just got an email about beta testing Shuriken heuristics module :)
They ask if you download the Shuriken database, place in in the correct folder and the execute a quick and full scan and report any detections.

Does MBAM have a trial version so i can test the the full version? I've been using the free version for 3 years now, and want to try the full version with ESET Smart security.

I don't think so it's either Free or Paid! You wouldn't need to run realtime with your setup! :thumb: I only use it On-Demand even though it's a paid version! I like to support great Anti-Malware programs especially lifetime licensed ones like MBAM!

Thank you for the response Triple Helix! Too bad they don't have a trial version. The machine i wanted to test MBAM only has ESET smart security on it. I have a lot of machines, and i don't have MBAM full version on any of them. I use Prevx for the most part, but it slows down my machines waiting on the cloud response.

Yeah even I got that mail too some days back last night I tested it heuristic db against some malwares and it didn't find anything :thumbd: and with normal db it did find certain threats most them were quite old ones. I'll post the log in their forum today:)

I use Prevx as it's a full Anti-Malware program as MBAM is not and I can't see why Prevx would slow you down? I tried to use MBAM in realtime and I found that heavier than NOD32 & Prevx combined! But it is up to you if you want to run it in realtime ;)

    Cheers,

    TH
