Why post the same info twice? ;) It's the same Changelog! And I don't run in realtime even though it's a paid version I use it as On-Demand scanner only so I always manually check for updates! :thumb:

ummm....what's the advantage of a flash scan vis-i-vis a quick scan...except that for the former you need to be a registered user :p which i am :D

As far as I know, flash scan only scans "for malicious objects in memory and load point locations."(from changelog)
On my computer a flash scan is completed in 1 minute, a quick scan in 5.

It may just be me but I feel the updater is lighter in this version.

Hi, Cudni, I have ammended my post to contain two Official Changelogs Anyone disputing these should go to the developer and not take issue with it here where MBAM is not officially supported.

These Changelogs ? Yes, they are effectively the same, perhaps not word for word, one is from the owner of MBAM the other is a long-time member here at Wilders that posted the changelog to the Malware Bytes Blog

Paid version of 1.44 updated automatically perfectly for me. 1.45 only works manually... :(

Did you do a reboot? If not do so and just install your License key again! And if it continues visit there help forums where they can help you better! http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?act=idx

Found out the issue. MBAM is the only antimalware app that can auto update that installs with auto updates turned off! While I normally update my products myself, this is not the best approach IMO. Now I have to make trips (or phone calls) to relatives to fix the auto updating issue. GRRRR! :(

Thanks for the updated info HAN I don't run in realtime so it's doesn't matter to me as I always check for updates manually!

siljaline: That box only controls checks for program updates, not definition updates.

The MBAM default is no auto updates. And the check for program updates is pre-checked, so if you manually check for updates, you can get both daily definition updates and a new program update if available. If you want auto updates, you add an update routine to the new scheduler section (located in the Protection Tab) and then it functions like the manual ones.

Once I finally understood what was going on, it's not a horrible thing. It just needs to be set by default to auto update if you run the paid version. I counted up and I have to mess with 7 machines! I should not need to do that!

Since I am a relative newbie with MBAM, HAN, once you have gotten to the bottom of this, I would be helpful if you would enlighten us for optimal settings.

Close. You just need to make sure the task actually is created by using the Add button.
