Are Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit and HMP.Alert somewhat similar, or do they do different things? I assume HMP.Alert just notifies while the other one might actually block. Anything else?

    They are different.

MBAE actually blocks the payloads of exploits.

HMP.Alert just lets you know if your browser has been compromised; it doesn't actually block any malware.

Works fine together, except MBAE currently blocks hmpalert_update.exe

HitmanPro.Alert 2 warns you when your browser is compromised and thus unsafe to use. It works with _any_ browser (including TorBrowser, Maxthon, Comodo Dragon, Pale Moon, Yandex browser, etc).

In addition, Alert 2 vaccinates the computer against some malware families; see also this article for a similar approach:
    https://community.rapid7.com/commun.../vaccinating-systems-against-vm-aware-malware

Alert 2 is 1.7MB in size and compatible with every AV as well as Sandboxie and EMET.
