May 03 Virus Bulletin Comparatives:
Congrats to Avast and PCCillin
Indeed well done... glad that I recommend Avast to my friends
But this test is all about the linux version... Where is it ?
I tried searching for linux on the Avast site and got a few references, but the product never shows up (except to mention the VB award )
Take a look at their Forum:
Does Linux have a lot of viruses? I only use Windows, I thought, Linux didn't have enough viruses, to warrant an AV.
No, not really many viruses exist on the Linux platform, but still, an AV for Linux makes perfectly good sense. The reason is that in today's world, Linux machines are most often used as servers - mail servers, proxy servers, web servers, file servers, firewalls etc., and this is one of the crucial points where AV scanning needs to be done.
Thanks that makes good sense.
Wow, the beta reaches 100%? Don't you ever publish it please
Congratulations on the VB100 Valik!
A good effort made even better by the fact that most of the "big boys" failed.
Valik... you mean like me? Hey, no one has ever called me like this!
Maybe Rod meant Vlcek.
