Maxthon, Chrome Plus - good 4...?

    Maxthon was gone WAY DOWNHILL from its Original MyIE days!!

    The last good version of this browser IN MY OPINION is MyIE2 9.27.68 (Last version before name change to maxthon)

    They just started taking stuff out after this and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY!??!?!??!!

    I have always said NEWER IS NOT BETTER AND THIS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE!!

    Just a quick update for everyone. Maxthon now use webkit. Also maxthon now states is is 200% faster than chrome (which in my opinion is true).

    I truly believe the browser i use (MyIE2) is much faster than any of the newer Maxthon versions!!

    i5 520m
    Seagate Momentus XT 500GB Hybrid Drive
    8GB DDR3 RAM 2x4GB
    ATI 5650m GPU

    Windows 7, fully updated and no security software currently running. Clean installation of Chrome dev and Maxthon's latest browser.

    I opened each one after installation, closed them, and then reopened to do the benchmarks. No other running programs. Closed in between each benchmark. Default settings, no about:flags or options changed.

    V8 Benchmark by Google.
    Kraken Benchmark by Mozilla.
    Peacekeeper Benchmark, independent.



    V8 - Bigger number = Better

    Winner: Chrome

    Chrome:

    Score: 8421
    Richards: 11448
    DeltaBlue: 12529

    Lol, I stopped reading the moment I read Maxthon was 200% faster than Chrome. If ever a number was pulled out of a rear end, that would be it. Thanks for the testing.

    Perhaps if we're putting Chrome up against the old Netscape Navigator, then the number might make some sense :D

    Been using max 2 for the last few years - I like its GUI , and customization.
