    Did anyone else get an e-mail and is it valid or a hoax?
    =======================================
    From: "Malwarebytes" <noreply@malwarebytes.com>
    To: (my e-mail account which is valid)
    Subject: Jw, last call for newsletter
    =======================================

    I automatically download only headers and then decide whether to download the body, usually only if it's an expected header.

    I got the e-mail....I think it was genuine. I clicked on the button, and I was rewarded with a success. So, I will continue getting their newsletter going forward.

    I got it, said I hadn't read their newsletter in a couple months or something like that. My questions is, how do they know that?

    Tracking pixels and/or URL. Shows when your email links get clicked, when someone opens the emails, how many times, etc. Standard stuff for marketing campaigns.

    Well I didn't get any newsletters before, not in Junk folder either so if they really sent newsletter e-mails, the e-mails went somplace else, not here. I'll see if I get them now...:doubt:
