Just started looking at this version so far it seems lighter than its predecessor, the scanning in this version looks looks more prone to false positives. I have no idea if Web, Ransomware and Exploit protection is in anyway improved.
The GUI layout is better but the print is not as clear.

Didn't even know about v4, GUI seems to look good, but I can understand the comments about the robot, eventhough it doesn't bother me. But once again they are claiming to be a full AV replacement, so I really wonder how it's going to perform in the first coming AV test. If it does bad, then they can't be taken seriously, because v3 was basically a joke according to all of the tests done in the last 3 years or so.

Print is clear for me. Apologize to MB v4 Beta team. They have excluded Web Protection counter as far as I can tell. Anyone know of any site(s) to download files to test the other modules? Don't worry as I am testing MB v4 in Windows Sandbox.

If you want to test or know something, just post and I will test or reply within reason...bring it on!;)

*Web Protection works and can delete the sites.
*PUP works when trying to install Advance System Care and is put into Quarantine.
*Main panel 'Detection History' shows 'Total items in quarantine 1.
*When Quarantined item is deleted, both 'Items quarantined last scan' and 'Total items in quarantine' in 'Detection History' shows 0.:)

    Ransomware, now that's another story.

    Thanks,
    Robert

    Hello @digmor crusher

    Hello @Peter2150

    Au contraire Peter... :)

However, your advice is still sound.

The reason for posting the fp's to MB is they are fine tuning the new detection engine. Posting here it just goes to the ether

    Hello @plat1098

As I said in the Malwarebytes forum, if you identify any more false positives during MB4 use, please consider making an FP exclusion in OSArmor as the Malwarebytes authored FP_Tracker utility is going to be immensely better than previous reporting methods. Of course Malwarebytes staffers will need to work with the folks at OSArmor for a more permanent solution.

Hi, 1PW, I'm just a basic user of OSArmor but as far as I know, it is more a user interface for a bunch of software restrictions. It's either "yes" or "no," there are no compromises unless it's user-defined. You could write your own rule or exclude something like you said. In this case, since I have a long-standing aversion to PowerShell, I would disable OSArmor in order to run the FPTracker and then re-enable it afterward. Thank you for helping me out at the Malwarebytes forum--I think the Edge.dev browser is still a little bug-ly but I really like it anyway. :thumb:

    Hello @plat1098

Thank you for that valuable OSArmor information. Your usage recommendation is quite reasonable and I will let front line Malwarebytes staffers know.

    Thank you again!

That's a matter of individual taste. A lot of folks like it myself included

v4 beta installs without error, however when I try to run it I get a "cannot connect to service" error. I tried uninstalling, using Revo to delete files and registry keys, and then reinstalling, but no joy.

I also had problems and had uninstalled with Revo. I downloaded their support tool, and used it as instructed and reinstalled the beta. Fixed everything and all is well.
