Yeah :- ) I was very unpleasantly surprised when it happened to me.

On the bright side, it has been my experience that on an on-demand scan it does not "auto-anything."

Win Defender sucks on Win 8, it's the first thing that I disable together with UAC and Win SmartScreen. And I decided that for now I don't really need MBAM, I do wonder how good the anti-ransomware module is, it was often bypassed in the past. Anti-exploit should be good since MBAE is also a good product.

    New Beta release

Interesting new feature; it seems that web browsing is faster with this new beta too.

Well, I'm sure many will be happy to hear that lowering manual scan priority noticeably lowers CPU usage.

I've only just installed this beta so can't really say too much yet. One very minor issue is the date format is still mm/dd/yyyy instead of following system format dd/mm/yyyy.

Well that love affair was short and sweet. Norton is now constantly running Auto-fix. Time to restore my backup.

I tried a restart but that stopped my mouse working, so I tried to shut down but the machine didn't want to do that either. :thumbd:

This is the link for the free version. The link provided on Zemana's home page and the one on the top of the ZAM page are for the trial of paid version and not the free version.

It does not have realtime protection.

I've tried again on a second machine and so far no problem to report.

    Monitoring...

Isn't that the Adguard Assistant extension?
Auto-quarantine without asking was introduced not so long ago. I guess it's to protect 'Average Joe', but for me it is an annoyance.

Edit: Sorry this is OT. Forgot it is MB thread.

Rather you than me. Will await your, and others' experiences so long :cautious:. I really only run MB on demand on primary machine, and only with MBAE module on secondary.

Prefer to avoid the betas, as even the stable releases can be 'problematic'.

Yeah, thier later betas may not be so stable but the earlier betas of MBAM 2.x were so I'll try this new one out for a while. I've got backups to restore from should the need arise... again.

Just installed the new beta and it works fine; didn't require a reboot. It is possible now to turn off the persistent warning when a real time protection is disabled. Enabling/Disabling Self Protection works properly now too. The option to reduce manual scan priority is also available again. :thumb:

Ran a Threat Scan: Items scanned 371k. Time to complete 9 minutes.

It's a beta but I think you can go ahead and install it.
I bet this will be released officially in a short time.

Really good to see this. Now, if their homepage and promotional pages would, you know, get a little more serious to match the software. I mean fah cryin'
