    Krusty,

Already did that, unfortunately that did not stop the message. <sigh>

Works here. I haven't been prompted to update at all.

Have you restarted after the change?

Hi @ZeroVulnLabs . I will try to install MB3 again at the weekend (I am too busy now). I will then attempt to request support via the forum again, and if that doesn't work I will PM you on here. I can only get the logs if my machine is functioning post-install. Thanks for responding.

    Hi Krusty

Yes, this message ONLY pops up when you are booting up the computer.

Can't provide you with a url of the screenshot, but this is the message:

    The header: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

A new version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is ready to be
    installed.

    Install now?

    (OK) (Later)

Are you using an adblocker? Adblock, Adguard Blur, Ghostery, uBlock... etc? If so, whitelist the site, or temporarily turn it off.

I have Adblock plus installed. But I tried turning that off. I had not thought it could be Zemana encryption causing an issue. It has never done so before. But I will try disabling it or use my iPad. Thanks for the suggestion.

All will have to wait until Saturday -- first thing I will do is take a disc image before I attempt the reinstall. I already cleaned up using the mbam2 clean tool.

Activity in this thread looks like MBAM is almost forgotten. Evidently everyone has accepted the present state of confusion and continue to use it that way.......or abandoned it completely!

Yep! No sense complaining about the issues with v3. Everyone here knows, v3 should never have been released and pushed to the public via the internal updater in v2...that's why the topic heading is, and should be, 'Malwarebytes 3.0 Beta'.

Can I please ask ..... at this stage, is there anyone totally happy with Malwarebytes 3 o_Oo_O? - I am loathe to give up my working faultlessly V2 versions on 3 home computers. If some of you experts on here are struggling getting all aspects working then it does not give a non-techkie like me much confidence to abandon what is working ....

Stay on V2 until we get our hands on their next effort. Be sure to turn off the update program setting in v2 or you may get a surprise.

Funny // sad part about all this is some their staff is as frustrated as we are. This should go down as a how not to in a management book.

Whatever is going on its clearly more than a few glitches, I wouldn't be surprised if they're rebuilding the code from scratch, was a bad idea trying to be a cure-all security solution, people choose wisely according to their needs,

Thanks Peter - I have already followed instructions by Krusty and others to untick the update box.

Its sad as I TRUST Malwarebytes implicitly as they have saved my bacon many a time with PUPS, Site Protection etc etc and I wish them all the best in getting it right !

I've had all three of my machines boot to a temporary profile while MB 3 was installed, had protection fail to start regularly, and then there is the Macrium Reflect bug. :thumbd:

    MBAM v2.2 still works fine.

Being a longtime MBAM user and watching the v3 drama unfold while on the fence (and growing a full beard), I wonder what's the timetable for v3.solid? A couple of weeks more or a few months?

Malwarebytes has become to large (A silicon company in Frisco, CA. Have you seen drugs inc. on tv) to put my trust. Wait and see collecting info on users just around the corner if not already.
I have that LT license, now it doesn't mean much any more. Right next door to google "The collecting personal info data kings!"
The bigger they get the product deteriorates along with the respect of the customers.
My lifetime license is buried (R.I.P).
Much better products, this one is too pedestrian, for me.:p

This post should be added to Wikipedia's FUD entry as a textbook example.

About that Macrium Reflect bug... I'm in the midst of troubleshooting the recent inability to turn off self-protection. During this process I uninstalled v3 and then used the v2 cleaner repeatedly both in safe mode and regular mode... and those VSS remnants continue. Apparently, this is related somehow to self-protection... and at this point, I seem to have dubious hopes of defeating self-protection for a program no longer installed on my laptop. VERY discouraging.
