I've been running this new beta release since I had problems with MBAE after upgrading to Windows 8.1.1 on one system. I liked how it ran so well, I upgrade my three other Win7 systems to it as well. NO problems on any of the systems since... :)

I know you're aware of conflicts with EMET, and have opted to postpone consideration of them for the time being. Just letting people here know --- in case this happened to them as well --- that in order to open IE with MBAE 0.10.3.0100, I had to turn off SimExecFlow in EMET 4. [No conflict with EMET 3, which doesn't include SimExecFlow; and so far, no conflict with programs other than just IE (e.g., FF opens fine with SimExecFlow enabled).]

EDIT: Also needed to turn off SimExecFlow to PRINT from (but not to open) Adobe Reader.

I have found a clash between the new version and Webroot's Identity Shield. If I don't switch this one off Chrome remains blank and MBAE shows zero protected applications. I guess the latest version hasn't been properly whitelisted by Webroot yet. (Local overrides on WSA are pretty useless, if they don't trust a file there is little you can do on your end; one thing I really don't like in WSA).

    I'm on XP SP3.

    EDIT:

If I disable Adblock Plus Chrome works but MBAE don't load with Chrome and other extensions won't work either. WSA is clearly blocking like crazy.

I heard that Windows 9 could be free. I intend to keep on using XP until they pay me to update, lol.

I don't think that libreoffice is an objective of any malware exploit.

Still blocks Windows Media Player for Windows 7 when opening VIDEO_TS.IFO when starting a DVD that is on the hard drive.

  22. Being close to final release, could you shed some light on licensing? Will there be a freeware version also?

I agree that with such an app, GUI is not the most important, but a bit more eye-candy would be nice.

Perhaps it can look a bit more like MBAM. :)

Its the kind of software you hope you don't need to interact with too much;).....I don't think the GUI needs any improvement, I don't know why people want 'pretty' GUI's...They don't exactly improve the performance of software.
