My understanding is that MBAE will eventually automatically update to 1.10 at which point you will be on the perpetual Beta. So basically you have to do nothing.

I am not so sure about what will happen to those of us using MBAM version 2 as a free scanner. Perhaps we just carry on and get the new definitions prior to scanning for as long as MB support it or install v3 and just use the scanner.

Is there still a FREE Malwarebytes? What will it include?
Yes! We still firmly believe that everyone has a fundamental right to a malware-free existence, and that’s not changing. Malwarebytes 3.0 Free will have the same capabilities as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free, but with a 3x to 4x scan speed improvement.

    -------------
What if I decide not to upgrade to Malwarebytes 3.0?
Per our new Lifecycle Policy that will go into effect on the Malwarebytes 3.0 GA date, Consumer versions of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit will reach End of Sale and End of Maintenance as of the Malwarebytes 3.0 GA date. This means we will no longer sell or renew these versions, and we are not planning to release any more software updates. Technical support will be limited to supporting existing functionality as of that date. End of Life for these versions will be exactly 6 months from the Malwarebytes 3.0 GA date. Users may choose not to upgrade and continue to use older versions after the End of Life date if they wish, but they do so at their own risk, since we can’t guarantee that ongoing protection updates will be available. Please see malwarebytes.com/support/lifecycle for more details.

I've just installed MBAM. As expected, the first thing it did was uninstall my stand-alone MBAE and I now have a 14 day trial with all protections fully running. I understand that after the 14 days have expired, my version of MBAM will be limited to the free scanner - that is fine with me. However, how do I get my MBAE running again as the perpetual Beta now that it has been uninstalled?

I think that you have to wait until your Malwarebytes 3.0 become Malwarebytes 3.0 Free.

So you are saying that when the trial has expired, and MBAM reverts to its free mode, it will be possible to reinstall MBAE as a free standing program alongside MBAM 3.0? If that is the case, then fine and I am reinstated to my original state.

Also, is it possible to end the trial early as I only want the scanner and the anti-exploit functions?

Settings => My Account => There is a button to Deactivate the license at the bottom right I think.

Thanks for the info. I have however already reverted to MBAM v2 and MBAE v1.09 and will await developments. If I can stay with the perpetual Beta version of MBAE I would be prepared to ditch MBAM if necessary as I only want the scanner which I value highly but there are alternatives if necessary.

I kept MBAM 3 in free mode and I'm awaiting for MBAE 1.10 perpetual beta to complete it.
MBAM 3 real-time was a real performance disaster here...

I kept MBAM 2 on demand and MBAE Premium.

So will MBAE perpetual beta continue to be a free install or just a free upgrade to premium when v1.10 is released? In other words will MBAE free disappear or does MBAE (premium) beta become a free version?

I'm using EMET on all machines right now... I'm assuming I'll switch to MBAE beta - my understanding is MBAE premium provides better protection then EMET

MBAE (premium) = perpetual beta - free version.
But there is no timeline available for the release of v1.10

Interesting, good news for people who don't want to upgrade to the new "all in one" MBAM.

I'm on 1.09.1.1261. There's a 1.09.1.1280 - is that the last versionbefore the merger into MBAM?

1.09.1.1280 installed over 1.09.1261 on XP, Windows7 pro 64 and Windows 10 pro 64 bit - perfect, no issues.
