A good, valid question! What's new in the beta? Changelog?

    So, key new features:

    - Incremental updates (although not necessary for the majority with unlimited bandwidth)
    - Malwarebytes Chameleon technology (better self protection = always good)

The rest are just minor fixes and enhancements. :)

I'm curious btw why Incremental updates is a Pro feature, if they made it a free feature that would save their servers a lot of bandwith.

Perhaps they have more than enough bandwidth as it is and are asking themselves; aren't the users more willing than us to lower their bandwidth costs? Money probably rules in the case. :)

So far identical to the previous build, uninstalled the current version first then a clean install with the beta, scanning time is the same for both on my XP Pro SP3.. I'll keep you posted unless my machine goes south but i doubt it will.. :argh:

Thanks for the heads up! ;)

There is no need to uninstall a current version. Install over the top will do.

@Shadek: Chameleon is more than self protection. MBAM can be installed on an already infected system and more features.
More about this when final is released(year end)

Over top install works fine, quicker than the MSE 4.0 beta, then again I didn't have MBAM real-time engaged. Chameleon is like having built in RKill, nice addition. Don't know how it compares but currently (mbamservice.exe) using 25MB on older XP Home with MSE (@ 35MB) as well. Quick Scan using Chameleon less than normal except for the time (<2 min.) identifying any malicious processes to be killed before scanning.

    Re: Malwarebytes Sale!!

It's time for another Wilder's Malwarebytes sale.

Recently, it's been $9.99 at Amazon and Newegg.

These guys claim they have it for $8 + shipping (although that site does not look reputable to me).

    http://www.newayelectro.com/pd-malwarebytes-anti-malware-lifetime.cfm

I would think the MBAM guys would make more charging us $9.99 as opposed to giving Amazon and/or Newegg a cut.

Wilder's is where MBAM got its footing...

I already have one copy, I'll get a second if MBAM puts it on sale here.

(I can't use the same purchase code for my PC and my laptop can I?)

I wish MBAM would bring back the "report false positive" button. I'm sure they had their reasons for removing it, but I apologize for my laziness but I am not a fan of solutions that require users to register for a forum just to report a false detection.

I say, bring the button back.

I'm using the free version of MBAM and wish I didn't have to keep going into my admin account to update. Maybe they could change that with 1.60.

I'll have someone from our product team keep an eye on this thread -- if you have any issues, comments, concerns, keep bringing them up. I promise you we have a queue set up to review all of them :).

I can not tell you how cool that is to have a CEO of a security company actually paying attention to a security forum. I know he may not be the only one but still. :thumb:
