    @mods: I would like to nominate xiaolin for an orange Developer account on the forum. :)

    Me too!
    I always wondered why xiaolin didn't have the "Developer" orange color. :)

    While totally sympathetic to the sentiment here, the decision is up to management and is not a "vote" based decision.

    Lets not have any more +1 or I agree posts and get back to the topic which is the software itself.

    Pete

    Hola Pete-sensei,

    Well, maybe we at least got LWM et alia thinking about dressing Xiaolin in an orange t-shirt.

    By the way, the forum won't accept a simple "+1" post -- at least, not for me.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Meanwhile, back OnTopic (more or less) -- in Xiaolin's latest post, note that he totally ignored commenting on recent questions about a 64-bit version for MD. My OPINION-- there will never be a 64-bit version of MD.
    AFAIK, the only stand-alone *classic HIPS* that is actively working on producing a majorly competent 64-bit version is Online Solutions Security Suite. Chutzpah? Time will tell.
    Doesn't D+ falls in the x64 compatible "Classical HIPS"? :D
    Given a no-router scenario, would running MD and Windows Firewall, properly configured, resolve that low level packet filtering issue? (I'm asking with specific interest in XP SP3 32 bit; expanding upon Vista and 7 would profit this thread.) Thanks.!
    error sir,
    don't forget OA (now emsisoft):
    link 1
    link 2
    i'm not a fanboy, but actually OA is the best hips on x64 platform imho (D+ still does not intercept some things), and it is the only one that is actively working on building x64 version compatible with x86!
    The right approach imo..
    I stand (joyfully) corrected. Although I don't run OA at the moment, I AM an OA fanboy.
    But that's pointless, because Malware Defender is 32-bit only.
    I haven't use Malware Defender extensively so I was wondering if it can block software programs from giving commands directly to the atapi.sys driver?
