Why are you using such an old build o_O And no, all versions I've ever used from older to the current have never consumed excessive cpu.

I've used all versions from 1.x on under a SuRunner account and haven't seen high CPU use either.

Thanks Xiaolin, almost 24 hours on XP SP3 and running perfectly.

No i couldn't replicate this, in fact CPU usage is so low that the CPU usage column is normally blank in Process Explorer.

    MalwareDefender.exe - 9,124K RAM and CPU 0%
    mdservice.exe - 1,016K and CPU 0%

That's 10,000K of raw power right there. :D

I use MD with SuRun, and no problem here.

Did you make some strange settings? or did you modify software in some way?;)

    Regards

I just remembered that I had to add "C:\Program Files\Malware Defender\MalwareDefender.exe" to the SuRun execution hooks blacklist. I was experiencing crashes in MD (some C++ error; I don't remember exactly what it was). I also told SuRun to ignore the MalwareDefender.exe process and not to elevate it on the SuRunners group tab. This is with SuRun v1.2.0.7. I didn't have any problems with SuRun 1.2.0.6 and MD. You might want to give this a try.

    Hello Forum,
When I receive a pop-up from MD about my security programs do I add it to Installers and Up daters or Trusted AApplications

I have my other security programs under Trusted Applications so they can work the way they were intended without any problems.

Yes likewise, security products are in Trusted Applications and they are the only programs in that group for me.

    (Slightly less related note)

Xiaolin's Registry Workshop was updated today to 2.4.3 (no regedit replacement as yet)
