@Huupi - someone over at Neowin did ask how to make Vista look like XP. If any tools get suggested Ill make sure to share.

As for "these things", some people might like the look of another OS but they dont want to use the OS itself. Vista is an example.

I am a long time user of Super Turbo Tango Patcher by vertigosity. I really like the tango icons that, now, I cannot stand the look of the default XP icons.
As for Visual Styles, I have always like Human by FioreSSj and ClearLooks by schmoove, until WinGnomeXP started releasing his excellent visual styles. My current favorite is EarthCG. As a personal rule, I always choose a visual style that looks good with tango icons.
Great guide, by the way, Thanks!

    Huupi,

I like the classic style, easy on the eyes, aim was not to look like Linux, wanted something with a similar colour scheme but more modern and Clearlooks is the best I can think of :).

    nickr, That is quite nice.

I'm the sort that sticks with the default themes in all the OS's I use. At least with XP Pro I changed the background. :)

If I patch my uxthteme file and apply the Clearlooks theme, what will happen when I install SP 3 for XP? Will I have to patch the file again? Thanks.
