    I purchased and downloaded DiskDirector Suite 10 last night. I also own previous Partition 8.0.

    I wanted to split my c: drive, so I went into split and when restarted computer is just sitting at blank screen with cursor blinking at top left. I did not creat a Rescue disk but had one from a previous setup and tried to boot with it but it will not recognize the drive with my backup image.

    I tried to use xp disk but it will not recognize my drive with my o/s on it. The same with the bootcfg tool, it will not recognize my hard drive with the o/s on it, says there are not boot directions.

    Suggestions??

    Can you see and log onto your XP partition from the XP install CD?

    I'm a little unclear, what or whose rescue disk do you have.

    When DD10 was working, did you 'commit' the changes and then reboot? I know nothing is supposed to happen until you commit - but you never know.

    It sounds like the MFT maybe zapped. Er meant MBR - so many mmmm'sss

    Hello mrtbig,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    Please create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected report file to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
