Wanted Launcher to run custom applications under WinPE, approximate analogue of TeraByte's TBLauncher.
oh my it is a rewritable RW disk! I will try again if not I will post again! My computer is old can boot from an USB stick Came
I also have this error: The Macrium Rescue boot program stops during installation, the process stops ... this is very strange ... Notebook “Acer Aspire One AO532h”, Notebook “ASUS Eee PC1005PXD” This error occurs if I am using Macrium 8.1 and Win PE10 2004. If I use Win PE 11 or Win PE 10 1709 then there is no error. If I am using Macrium 7.3 or Macrium 8.0 then there is no error. Macrium Rescue is built on Windows 10 21H2 x64 *** The error only occurs if I'm using Macrium 8.1 + Win PE10 2004( I tested 8.1.7280 & 8.1.7401) This error is not permanent: I made 6 attempts, 2 successes and 4 failures(errors)
RWs are less reliable in terms of write-read quality and durability. Even older 12-year-old computers can boot from a flash drive. Plug in the Macrium RescueMedia bootable flash drive. When the computer boots, as soon as the first color screen appears, periodically press the "Boot menu" key, the prompt at the bottom of the screen tells you which key it is, it might be the F12 key. In Boot menu (Select a boot First device) use arrow keys on your keyboard to select USB-HDD and press Enter, the computer will boot from the USB stick. Check also the other nearby USB-.... items. You can check that right now, even if you don't have a bootable USB stick. Plug in any non-bootable flash drive and try, at the last step the computer will display a message that no bootable device is detected. The USB stick is best plugged into the back ports, but it usually works from the front ports as well.
That is what I want to try Where is that option in my bios? Is safe and clean of malware https://xxx.ultraiso.com? Welcome to the club, now is booting but does not recognize my external HDD! Please help Thanks Came
There is a scroll in your menu, scroll down, there are more items. But that's not the menu I wrote about. You don't need to go into the bios to open the boot menu. You press the power button on the computer, and immediately press F12 repeatedly until the boot menu opens. Or simply press and hold down the F12 key. Depending on the manufacturer, the keys may be Esc, Delete, F1, F2, F10, F11, F12, but start with F12. It is possible that your boot menu is disabled in bios, go to bios and enable it. The second half of the video shows very clearly how to do all this. Yes, UltraISO is a safe program. If when booting from the Macrium Reflect RescueMedia your external hard drive is not visible, it is possible that MR is missing your USB-HDD driver. First check it by plugging it into other USB ports.
Thanks from me also! This little detail got me too, just a couple of days ago. I had swapped out some drives and was trying to do a restore, but couldn't see my external drive. Then I remembered reading this thread a few days or weeks earlier. I'm surprised that reflect doesn't auto refresh, but there's probably a good reason for it.
Hi, I have a year old version of Reflect 8 FREE installed on Windows 10 PC. I can see only 30-day trieal versions on the Macrium website to download. Can I still upgrade my Reflect 8 FREE to the latest 8.X version and use it for FREE - not as a 30-day trial? If so, how can I do this? Thanks.
I believe the last/latest version of Macrium free is v8.0.7279 released Jan 12, 2023. You can still download it from Macrium website. Install over your current version and it will update you to the this latest built. Use this link below
Thank you, but are you sure this will work and I won't end up with a trial version? Can this file you linked be used to install Reflect FREE from scratch as well (not only as an update)? I havea Reflect FREE v8.0.6635 installed and have made a bootable USB (PE) with it, last year. If the v8.0.7279 is not surely FREE I'll just keep on using the old version I have on the USB to boot, image and recover. It will probably work well with all the future Windows versions?
This link to v8.0.7279 is an installer for the free version, it will not install as trial. And yes it is a full installer and you can install the free version from scratch with it.
Reflect Free 8.0.7279 (see the linked file above) is the last version that Macrium will release. You can continue to use it, but there will not be any further bug fixes or feature updates.
I see. Wih the 7280 build they went from 8.0 to 8.1 version, which is not FREE anymore. So the 8.0.7279 is the last truly free version. Thanks. I've downloaded it before from the link above. I'll use it for personal use, not business (I know there was a FREE business version available before too). But since I'm only using Reflect via PE (booting from USB to do images and recovery), I guess it doesn't matter if I stay with the older v8.0.6635 that I have installed. Or has the 8.0.7279 have a newer PE? Would I need it? Again, thank you!
6635 was released 4th March 2022. The change log shows 6 released updates beyond 8.0.6635, prior to 8.1.7280. Change details here: http://updates.macrium.com/reflect/v8/v8.1.7401/details8.1.7401.htm
Thanks, I checked the change log - there is no Windows PE update between builds 6635 and 7279, the PE update is in the v8.1.7280 but this one is a trial version, not free. I'll stick with my old 6635 version since I only use PE really. I hope it keeps on working as well as it did in the past for all the future Windows versions.
Macrium WinPE is made up of two components, Macrium software that does the actual work, and WinPE components to create a bootable environment where Macrium can load. There may not have been any updates to the WinPE components between the versions, but there have been multiple updates to Macrium software itself, like bug fixes, security patches etc. Macrium software is the component of the Macrium PE that actually does the imaging, not the WinPE component. Since it has been over a year since your last Macrium PE, it is highly recommended to update to the latest version to take advantage of all the updates to Macrium itself. However, if you choose not to update, your old Macrium PE will still continue to work, just without the latest security patches, bug fixes etc.
It looks pretty vague. v8.0.7279 is not in the official release list. The v8.0 line officially ended with v8.0.7175, after which the next version is v8.1.7280. But the release is in the old list of changes, which is only for v8.0. Download Macrium Reflect Download Agent https://updates.macrium.com/reflect/v8/ReflectDLFull.exe Rename ReflectDLFull.exe to ReflectDL.exe or ReflectDLHF.exe and it will download you v8.0.7279 Free.
@Raza0007 - Thanks for pointing that out, I do know that, but was kinda ignoring the importance of the updates over a course of the year since my old version on the USB works without a problem. I guess nothing mayor changed in a year, for my needs. Maybe I should update anyway, just to have the latest free version. @aldist - Thanks, but I've already downloaded the latest free version (8.0.7279) from the link Raza0007 pasted a couple of posts above. Is the v8.0.7279 a good one? I've read that the next version (8.1.7280) was pulled because of a BSOD? But the v8.0.7279 is OK? If that's not certain I'll just stay with my trusty old 6635 build as it works great. Again, thank you both.
I have an update slide for 8.1.7469. Plus info in GUI. Has any one else had it? Waiting to see what others say first
I just installed it. I was prompted for a reboot. It just happened that my daily incremental was scheduled to run just as it came back up. No issues with any of that.
