And here, after backup completes, sometimes I get 1 notification & sometimes 2 i.e sometimes I get only "backup completed in (time)" & sometimes first I get "image was completed successfully" & then previous mentioned notification.
Well, I mentioned that yesterday I did the 2055 update with no issues regarding the mrcbt.sys being removed. About 6 hours ago Macrium sent me an email saying the issue was fixed in 2055.
TheRollbackFrog, I am running V7 trial I am going to get V6 key (eligible for free V7 upgrade) How to activate running V7 trial with V6 key eligible for free V7 upgrade?
You need to be running v6 under the v6 key before you can use the in-app "Check for updates" to do the update... that's the easiest way. Or... you can use this upgrade LINK on the Macrium web site to try and upgrade the eligible key itself. I don't think you can turn your installed TRIAL into a registered version... but I'm not sure of that. You'll have to check the menus. I think you'll have to download the FULL installer and offer your new v7 key to get the proper version.
Installed trial has "Register" option.........it has license field And mention "Enter your license key below, upgrade users will be prompted for further license keys". The link you gave me, on entering V6 key, do I get V7 key, if V6 key was verified to be eligible for free V7 upgrade?
Ok, upgraded fine to V7. I got the key from someone & purchase order forwarded to my email, license transfer to my account possible And how?
Some companies are not keen on license transfers from other people (if that is what you are meaning) This would be better dealt with by Macrium and not on this forum.
Just curious...I am running Macrium Premium Version 6.3 Build 1745 and happy with it. Is there really any good reason for me to spend $34.95 and upgrade to Version 7? Appreciate any input.
AFAIK v.6 will be updated for one year. After that support will end. I'm sure that after the end of support you will have to update to v.7 just to keep it compatible with Windows 10.
Personally I don't notice any difference. The headline CBT feature sounds good but it's only any interest if you plan to perform incremental backups regularly - say hourly - between reboots. So far Version 7 is nothing more than an incremental update (no pun intended). If it wasn't free then I would have felt cheated having to pay for it. IMO Macrium are just using the upgrade as a way to get more money out of existing customers who don't qualify for a free upgrade, but giving them very little in return.
Exactly, and I am quite disappointed. But I guess it is me who was stupid enough to pay for this upgrade...
will Macrium Reflect Free v6 be updated for one year. will Macrium Reflect Free v6 at the end of support update to v7 to keep compatible with W10.
v6 FREE will be supported 'til at least February 2018. I think by that time they will have a v7 FREE. There's no need for a v7 FREE at the moment due to the fact that neither of the (2) new features will be available in the FREE edition. They will not give up on a FREE edition along the way... stay with it if it works for you.
Because of an issue with another program, I always do a Verify after a full image with Reflect. One thing that always bugged me was that during the verify it gives the % progress, but the time stays at 1 second. Why can't Macrium show this progress in time too?
Just wanted to share my first 'save' using Macrium Reflect. It was a very VERY clumsy recovery, but ultimately successful. (Warning, you will surely cringe along the way at how many amateur mistakes were made). My mini-HTPC running Win10x86 began this AM with the dreaded screen attached below. I have no idea what triggered this nasty event. All attempts using the built-in Win10 utilities did nothing to restore my computer. Stupidly, though I had a relatively recent MR backup, I had not made recovery media, nor had I installed a recovery partition! From the Windows recovery menu, I was able to get into a command prompt and ran MR directly from there! Success, I thought! Nope, from the Restore backup menu, I then selected 'delete partition' thinking this would automatically follow with a 'copy partition.' My backups consisted of the boot partition and the Windows partition. So instead of restoring everything, I erased the formerly intact boot partition I had selected. This I surmised after I rebooted and had only a UEFI shell prompt. I went back to my main PC rig, created a Win10x86 recovery flash disk (knowing that it would not have the exact drivers needed), and booted into that. Of course, I had saved my MR backups on a SD card in the built-in reader, which the make-shift recovery media did not have the drivers for. After another 40 minutes of copy time to transfer the 13 gigs from the SD card to my recovery media using another computer, I was able to finally correctly restore my broken partitions.
Lol... Glad it all worked out in the end but man, what a trip to get there! Me? Nah, never had any doi doi issues like that before... (whistles)
I just wish they hadn't made it so..complicated http://knowledgebase.macrium.com/di...start after upgrading to Macrium Reflect v7 1
