You should be able to get the installer when you use the menu item "Other tasks/Check for updates." If it gives you the installation, do it. The next time you need to build aPE (for any reason), it will update the PE with the v7 Macrium stuff at t hat time.
TRF, I meant, if I want to do fresh install of V7, should I download only installer or PE too? I have PE package from V6 download.
I just made the new Rescue Media. The only issue would be if you did not have PE10 Rescue and Reflect will tell you. I created mine with PE 10 and when I brought up Reflect it said I needed to update my PE5. I do not use that but at one time I must have. So, I just removed pe5 stuff and now it is fine with my PE10. I did NOT need to update PE10. So, I only removed PE5 stuff from here. If you only have PE10 stuff do not worry. C:\boot\macrium C:\ProgramData\Macrium\Reflect\Windows AIK C:\ProgramData\Macrium\Reflect\Windows Kits
Yes, the PE Download is the same but Reflect v7 needs to be integrated if you need a new Recovery Media... that will happen if you reBuild your Recovery Media.
Offcoz I will prepare new recovery media... I just wanted to know if the PE download is the same or new...if same, I can place V7 installer in the same folder as PE & install V7 & prepare new recovery media too... So PE is the same download & nothing new... Thank You for the info... Regards
TRF, Installed V7, completed initial backup with forever incremental sched, created recovery disk, everything fine.... How to modify Macrium Windows task sched entry to have every 2 hours backup? I modified the task but at the end got error on entering password i.e 2 accounts were there in the drop down menu & tried both accounts with password but got error for both...
To the group who originally were gifted NFR licenses of v6 in appreciation for their donated time and effort, I just sent a thank you to Macrium that read in part: "We recently realized that you generously without being asked extended those licenses to v7 - thank you from a very appreciative group." A great product and company.
Can anyone tell me if "every 2 hours" (hours based backup) possible or not in V7 & how to schedule it? And how does daily schedule works? I mean daily schedule dont count manual backups taken by users, right? Mine is "incremental forever" & set to everyday @9am & if missed, perform backup on system startup. Schedule missed & on system startup, no backup was done... UPDATE Yesterday everything was fine, today even manual backup not happening i.e I tried to run backup through GUI scheduled task, the status shows "ready" & not "running" But task manager shows 5 Macrium processes running (usually there are 2 processes & 5 processes are only there on backup running...) UPDATE Ok, got it...task is scheduled to run only on power & manual backup too cannot be run on battery...
You're welcome everybody. And thank you guys and girls for your generous contribution of time and expertise to help people properly use a tool that is so essential to their computing well being.
Hello, Ok, did the following & works fine... Tried to edit Macrium task under Windows Task Scheduler but trying to save gave error. I copied "Program/script" & "Add arguments (optional)" under "Actions - Edit" in Macrium task. Deleted Macrium scheduled task in GUI & Macrium task under Windows Task Scheduler was not there. Created new task under Windows Task Scheduler for Macrium, set to "every 5 mins" (test purpose) & under "Actions - New" - entered the above mentioned copied stuffs i.e "Program/script" & "Add arguments (optional)" --- on clicking "Ok", it mentioned "do you want to add arguments" --- I clicked "Yes" & checked again & it had messed the program/script & arguments fields...So I copied again & this time clicked "No" & this time fields were fine. Its working fine & as set, "every 5 mins" doing backup. TRF, the above wont affect Macrium in any way, right? Thank You
It shouldn't. With the tasks now running, in v7, under SYSTEM in the scheduler, those changes should be able to be made. Any options other than the DAILY set will not show up under the Reflect Scheduling UI. I believe after they introduce "Continuous Incrementals" in the very near future, some of those WTS tweaks will be available in the Reflect UI directly.
Macrium WTS task was running under SYSTEM And saving changes was giving error. I have removed Macrium WTS task by deleting Macrium scheduled backup in the GUI. I have created new Macrium task in WTS running under MY ACCOUNT (Admin Account) & tested & works fine.
Well... that's one way of doing it to eliminate passworded accounts which was causing your previous error. It should run fine and not affect Reflect's operation, other than the fact that your "private" task will most likely not show up under the Reflect Scheduling UI... which is no big deal if you don't mind managing that task via the WTS. I didn't have any of those issues because I have no passworded accounts on the System I was testing on.
After upgrading to v.7 I got 2 new processes running: - reflectui.exe - started at startup and running in background all the time. As far as I can tell it shows notifications on user desktop (option to postpone backup...). In previous version I didn't get those notifications if I was logged in with standard user account, now I get them. - reflectmonitor.exe - starts when scheduled backup is run and it shows icon in systray. When backup is created icon disappears but process keeps running until system is shut down.
If I modify Macrium task in WTS, to save it require password, whats the password? I mean it shows the account as "S- (couple numbers) & not my account or system... My account is in the drop down menu but the same probs as the above mentioned "S- ..........." account...i.e after entering password & OK gives error... The task mention "Author" as "Macrium", is there any default password for it.....?
There are 2 processes always running... 3 more processes are there on performing backup & those 3 processes disappears on backup completion...
Thank You...update went fine here After update...there is a "ref tmp" 0 bytes file in C drive, is it safe to delete it...?
thank you yash - this is from the upgrade pop-up but thought there also was on online page with that info.
