You shouldn't need to. I have no problem with this.

The CD/DVD BOOT device is not available in the LOCAL Windows BOOT menu, but will be available in your hardware's BOOT menu usually available with a special F-key function upon BOOTing. If your BiOS is set correctly, that device will be the first one selected during your normal BOOT process, and if it's not there it moves on to your hard disk's BOOT capability.

Zach, the FREE CD/DVD most likely does not include the important PAID features (Rapid Data Restore <RDR> which you'll use a lot if you do restores and INCREMENTAL imaging). I would remake it just for those features...

Ok let me be more clear I want to store my restore image to by USB stick after I created the boot stick.
So when I need to recover I can just insert the USB stick and it will be done. What good is the bootable stick if I can not restore from it?

    Sorry... I misunderstood.

Once you've created your UFD Reflect Recovery Media, it should be available as a DESTINATION device (I would create an image folder on your UFD just for organization purposes) in the DESTINATION Folder selection area, not necessarily in the DropDown at the end of the DATA field but via the BROWSE button (...) at the end of that directive line.

People store backup images all over the place... other internal disks, external HDDs, and in your case you'd like to use the UFD Recovery Media as a storehouse as well. Most people won't do this because their storage media will be housing lots of different images over time, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

The BOOTable Recovery Media UFD (or CD/DVD) is very important... without it you can't even do that disaster restoration/recovery you're talking about regardless of where your image is located.

On the left of the screen click on other tasks. You will find add boot menu in other tasks.
I'm not sure if is available for the free version. If you are using the free version, you can check if add boot menu is available under other tasks.

I hade already added the boot menu so when my pc boots I am given a menu. my usb stick is 160 gig so I would think that should be fine for a restore image.

Out of interest, what read/write speeds do you get with that flash drive?
