Well, I bet Intego will get a bit richer selling AV's to Mac users. :shifty:

Yes, I'm glad for these guys. Have you got any experience with their products, are they any good? The GUI seems to look pretty.

Unix isn't Windows. I have no real need for an AV. I'm typing this on my laptop which runs Ubuntu. I wonder if Intego will try and sell me an AV for that as well? You have to ask why AV companies are pushing AV's to Mac users. My guess is that as MS has really made an effort with Windows Defender AV companies are looking for new customers. I'm not drinking their Kool Aid. Unix isn't Windows.

Here's a screenshot of a secure up to date browser and OS that isn't Windows and doesn't run an AV.

A simple yes or no, would be OK for me. I know that Unix and the macOS are safer, but that's only because they are less targeted. For the record, I haven't had a single malware infection on Windows in over 20 years. Haven't even used an AV in over 10 years, and I almost never install patches for Windows. Security tools are more of a hobby for me, but I do think they are needed to stay safe, combined with common sense of course.

It might be that it is less targeted, but it's more probably to do with admin rights, user competency and system architecture.

You probably need third party security software on an unpatched Windows OS.
