    Hello,

My zemana antimalware licence has come to an end and i was wondering if any other second opinion scanners have come on the market that offer better protection than ZAM but also have a low impact on the system?

I am currently running microsoft security essentials on win 7 home edition 64bit with ZAM working alongside it.

    thanks for your time
    Martin

Not really what you are asking, but have you considered running Comodo FW with MSE? It is pretty low resources, and when config'd right, will make your machine pretty much impenetrable. And it's nothing like Comodo of old, where it is constantly flagging safe programs as unknown.

So, you want a second opinion scanner that offers realtime-protection?

I never got on with comodo fw in past with xp.

I may at some point move to commodo fw from outpost but its a time issue with the lack of it to configure it well.

    emsisoft?

I thought it had some hips or behavioural analysis along with just being a scanner?
It seemed fairly heavy when i trialled it a few years ago has its mission/purpose changed?

I understand. I use CruelSisters config, and have it saved as a .cfgx file that I just can import on any fresh install. Makes fast and painless.

Doesn't Ophelia take 18s to set up Mehgan's config? Now that I know the config I usually take about 30s. Beaten by a cat - definitely getting old!

It's on demand only. It's signature based. Maybe cloud too? Behavioral idk.

Only ones that I know that have real-time protection are Zemana, Malwarebytes and you might consider SecureAPlus

I believe there was mention of including real-time malware protection to Hitmanpro(Alert) but not sure if that was implemented yet.

How about Immunet? That has real time and from my tests can detect pretty darn fast even faster than the AV at times!

This is rebranded Zemana... (I believe Zemana has basically abandoned their product) IMHO

Are you saying they gave abandoned the anti-malware program?

I am aware people seem to believe they have moth balled the anti-logger.

wsa's one of the best companion av's in the market. once installed, you don't even know it's there. the impact is almost zero.
