    Hi all,

Up until now I have dealt with a lot of things security-wise, but the one thing I stayed away from -for a good reason, being not an expert I think- is the registry.

I'd like to take the first steps here as well.
And I'm looking for an easy to grasp (newb friendly) tool to monitor/adjust/protect my registry(entries).
    Where to start?

    Any suggestions?
Or, in case this thread already exists in any form; where can I find that one?
    Thanks in advance

    regards,
    slammer

    Hey Slammer,

if your looking for a good registry cleaner, here's one,

    http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

I have used Regseeker for about a year now with no problems.Has a lot of options, and it is very newbie friendly.

As with all registry tools, don't forget to check the backup option before performing any actions. ;)

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Slammer, ;)

Snowbound is right on with Regseeker by Hoverdesk ... great interface, simple and newbie friendly.

Other suggestions for cleaners - 1. jv16 powertools (A++++) & Reg Cleaner (A-) by Jouni Vuorio from Macecraft - (this link has them both ... both still work, no time bomb (like the last freeware version) these still work.)
    jv16 powertools & regcleaner

For a Reg Protection - DiamondCS Reg Prot - similar to Spybot's built in protection they can both operate no conflict.
