I'm about to rework a couple networks I manage, and I'm looking for a firewall to complete the security mix. I use NOD32 and am about to replace Aluria AntiSpyware with Ewido. I am looking for something that should coexist happily with those programs. I've tried Outpost and ZoneAlarm in the past; Outpost was ok and ZoneAlarm didn't really move mountains for me. Given the people who will be using these computers, the easier and more transparent things are, the better.
Wise decision. Aluria has been dealing with Whenu (= Adware/Spyware maker), I wouldn't trust any of their softwares. Ewido is an excellent choice.
I signed with Aluria when it was actually fairly decent. Right after my 30-day guarantee ran out, they added hooks for their "security suite", which turned the software into self-promoting adware. Then, the WhenU scandal hit. Then, the updates tanked out and became fewer and further between. I've not been happy for a while now. Outpost has a spyware plugin, right?
you should check out kerio right now they have a great deal going on for there software plus it is a very good firewall.ck out the conterspy webb site for the info on kerio.
yeah apparently they are giving out a good deal on their products (from previous news i've heard) and i would reccomend it to you if you didn't like ZA Pro (which i think is a great firewall)
Are they going to be configuring/maintaining the firewall software? How configurable is the hardware in front of the network(s)? Regards, CrazyM
Why not CHX-I, it is the most transparent firewall out there once you get it set up, and it is free. The extensive logging system is also very nice.
