It's not that I dislike NOD32, I like it very much. It is a great AV. I just think ESET, in this case, is treating it's customers badly. Recap: Love NOD32...ESET...not so much. There is a difference It's not about upgrading or wanting a beta, it's about the lack of information given by ESET so that a person can make an informed decision about what they will be using versus what they have now.

Hey bud , I'm not here to bash you but you don't make any sense , You said you are no longer going to use Eset but yet you would still recommend it , Now you are saying its a great AV but not great enough for you to use any longer ? ok cool , Though I like to know have you ever in the past or present had any problems with Eset ? I believe Eset doesn't care to be in the soap opera business and is more concern towards keeping their AV top notch , Just maybe this AV isn't for you and you should find one that is more concern towards the soap opera business

It that were my only concern with ESET/NOD32 I'd probably stay with them, but it's not. I have http rendering issue with imon active which are not yet fixed. They are still there even after tweaking with the compatibility settings. Also, amon does not have on-access scanning on archives, which I think is really important. I've pushed for it in the past, so we'll see what happens. I don't really agree with the term "soap opera,"nor the connotation, but I feel we have a right to see what's coming down the road, that's it. I'm not using NOD32 because of the inadequacies I just mentioned, the fact that I dislike ESET, though not my main reason, doesn't help things. Their AV, in my opinion though very good is not top notch.

I never understand the "I need to know about next years product now...to make a decision now." The cost of antivirus is a wee small percentage of the overall cost of computing..wether you have a single PC, or a lot. If I don't like one particular product..I will try another. If I don't like that one..I will try yet another. And if I don't like that one...I'll keep on trying others. It's that simple.

But losing sleep for countless nights because I don't know the details on an upcoming version.....not for me.

In the meantime...2.5 and my Endian router serves the job just fine..and will do so til "whenever" 3 is out in another year or two.
