I keep getting messages from Spyware Guard about home page and search page change attempts.

I have updated and run Spybot S&D and rebooted machine several times. It has not found anything.

I also run AVG and it found a trojan, don't know if it's related. here's that info.

    Hi Altro,

Since you have run AdAware, could you please post a new Hijackthis log (in this thread) so we can check it to see if there is anything left that may still need fixed.

    Regards,

    Hi,

I was a bit premature in thinking my problems were solved.
AVG finds a trojan, winshow.an (I think AN) and repairs/vaults the infected files. A short time later an AVG pop-up and the process begins again...

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Altro,

    Click Start > Run > Services.msc > OK
In the services window find Network Security Service.
Rightclick and stop it. Put the Startup type to disabled under Properties > General tab.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    Pieter,

In services the closest I found was NT LM Security Services. I disabled that.
    I checked/fixed log items.

For some reason my comp won't boot into Safe Mode. I have tried everything in f8 and msconfig. The screen shows all the system32\drivers\* then it hangs every time :/

    thanks.
