Sorry to hear about that. I've never been shot but I can't imagine it would feel good at all.

Hope you make a speedy recovery. I've never been through the experience but it doesn't sound pleasant.

 We were just trying a little humor. Sometimes one forgets not all will understand our brand of humor. I am sure I am not the only one who wants to ask, but just how the hell did you get shot? I am very glad to hear you are on the mend. Will there be any lasting negative complications from this?

Have been shot at, but fortunately never hit, have come as close as I ever want to get.

    Thanks

StyleWarz is in the army - which means he's WAY stronger than all of us who are not in the army, and that also means he'll recover a lot faster than we would :)

but, Morfine, thats heavy stuff mate!
That's not just some flesh wound I guess.

    Hope you will recover soon,
but make sure you take plenty of time to heal.

I know Morphine is used to treat injuries - but what exactly is it and why is it 'heavy stuff'? o_O

I'm just trying to learn something here.

It's a powerful narcotic, painkiller. Can be extremely addictive,

morphine is a naturally occurring substance in the opium poppy. it is one of the most effective drugs known for the relief of severe pain, and remains the standard against which all new analgesics are measured. morphine directly effects the central nervous system. besides relieving pain, morphine's effects impair mental and physical performance, relieves fear and anxiety, and produces euphoria.

morphine is dangerous because it is habit forming, and long term use may lead to addiction and withdrawal symptoms. after heroin, morphine has the greatest dependence liability of the narcotic analgesics in common use today. it is only supposed to be used for short term pain relief, 5-7 days.

    at least that's what i hear! ;)

From my estimation, by the look of it, it does not seem to be just a flesh-and-bone injury. I feel that maybe some nerves were also damaged. And nerve+bone+flesh damage, hurts a real whole lot, I'm sure.

Here's wishing you a very speedy recovery, StyleWarz :)

I'm really worried about you :'(

:( Please do keep us posted, I think you know he has quiet a few friends here at Wilders, an all of them wishing him the best. Again, curious as to just how he got shot, usually military ranges are very strict about safety.

A little humor: The hell with the morphine, give him the good Russian vodka.

    Thanks
    Wildman

unless you're taking the morphine orally, put it in the vodka for an extra pick-me-up!

    yeah... me too.
    holy crap!
How in the world did it happen to YOU?
anywhu... get well soon man... and for the love of God... DON'T TRY TO TYPE WHEN YOUR ARM IS SO MESSED UP!!! I'd use some real expletives to... uhumm... dissuade you from trying to post here and damage your arm further, but I can't... since certain 13 year olds surf around these parts.

    regards.
    you know who.

PS ::: if there's any morphine left over, call me ;)
