Attached is a link to a very interesting article regarding viruses, their spread, and myths surrounding Linux and Windows:

Hope you guys find it as interesting as I did.

I fear that I already know the contents of the 2nd and 3rd article :doubt:

    My summary:
Everything is safe, as long as you are aware of the risks involved and manage your environment. Apply the fixes as they come and don't be too curious for content that's delivered to you through the internet.

Apart from my (predictable) summary, the article seems not quite unbiased, despite the writing style. There are some fundamental errors in the article that seem to try to tip the balance towards the Microsoft product range.

My view: MS stuff is no more insecure than non MS stuff, it's the way you use it.

    O yeah, one error I don't like:

I feel that a well managed windows box is just as secure as a well managed linux box. That's not what the writer puts down in this article. Problem (the error ;) ) is that most linux users (especially the server managing guys) are geeks or professionals that know how to manage a box, whereas windows users couldn't care less.

Sorry mods, better close this discussion, it will not lead anywhere

    Hi Andre,

We're not in the habit of closing threads, unless there's a very specific reason for doing so ;).

    regards.
