    Hi,

We recently received new computers from Dell, type Optiplex 790. These computers seem to be fitted with a brand new version the Intel Gigabit network adapter, and none of the drivers on the Linux recovery CD is capable of activating this nic. Is there a way to update the Linux CD, or do I have to wait for a new version the BR 2011 Free edition ? Any other options ?

    Thx,

    David

I have no idea what level of support Paragon provides for the free version but it likely is very limited. You could drop support an email and ask the question since it is to their benefit to update the Linux for the paid version as well.

The paid versions offer a WinPE CD/flash drive program that uses the Windows drivers and also allows you to add other drivers if necessary.

If you feel that the fifteen-dollar program for thousand-dollar computer - it's too expensive, you can create BartPE contain B&Rfree. It's easy, and you can find ready-made plugins to build. Why wait when update linux-based rescue-CD. In WinPE can easily add any drivers on their own.
